Zoccolo Lake and numerous other lakes in Val d’Ultimo, South Tyrol

Val d´Ultimo is one of the valleys in South Tyrol with the highest concentration of water. The Val d´Ultimo has, additionally to its many artificial lakes, a great number of very beautiful tarns.

Surrounded by splendid lush nature and spectacular mountains, the lakes in Val d’Ultimo are ideal for those who like fishing during their holidays in South Tyrol or for those who are interested in diving.

It is important to mention though, that the population of the Val d´Ultimo was never in favour of the construction of these artificial lake, because some farms dating back to the 14th century used to be located exactly here. Fortunately some examples of “Poor Art” have been preserved.
